Multimedia Resource Centre:
This space is optimised for your needs. It gives you the chance to improve or to fill any gaps in your knowledge not only of the language, but also of French culture, all following independent study or simply to unwind. You have at your fingertips CD ROM's, Audio CD's, films, books, a selection of newspapers and magazines and various board games. Presentations are organised twice weekly by a tutor (including film showings, debates, CD ROM demonstrations etc).
Cultural Activities:
- Cooking courses, wine tasting, visits to wine and olive oil producing chateau's.
- Discovery of the local crafts : making crib figurines and little almond cakes.
- Taking part in cultural events in Aix and in the region : festivals of lyrical music, international piano festival, dance, jazz, theatre, carnivals, and crib figurine fairs.
- Insight into Aix's markets : flowers, antique fairs, second hand goods, antiquities, fruit and vegetables, old books
Sports Activities and Relaxation:
- Water sports, golf, horse riding, cycling, climbing, tennis and hiking, with the nearest ski resorts within 2 hours drive!
- Suggested excursions each week in order to gain an insight into the cultural and natural heritage of Provence
- Painting courses, modelling and aromatherapy
- Group activities with other students at IS : pétanque competitions, barbecues.
- Looking after your body at Aix's Thermal Baths
