The civilisation course examines French culture and contemporary life (painting, sculpture and the history of Paris) as a prelude to an excursion in Paris with a professional guide.
The principal areas visited are: Montmartre, l’Opéra Garnier, le Marais, les Passages, Saint-Germain des Prés, l’Ile de la Cité, le Quartier latin.
At the famous Ritz Escoffier school of French gastronomy and L’Atelier des Chefs, a professional chef teaches students how to prepare typically French courses. Students can thus practice their French in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
In a Parisian wine bar, a French sommelier light-heartedly introduces the students to oenology. Students learn how to distinguish one wine from another and to know the appropriate vocabulary. They gain knowledge of inspecting, smelling and tasting the different wines.
These workshops in mini-groups take into account the particularities of each nationality to help students accept their cultural differences with France and to socially and professionnally integrate.
