Art and Fashion Design
The design courses are offered in partnership with the Ecole Fleuri-Delaporte and follow the unique approach to studying fashion design invented by Micheline Fleuri-Delaporte in 1949. Courses in observational drawing, life drawing, composition or color are led by top teachers from the Ecole supérieure d'art Françoise Conte as individual lessons or in small groups.
Civilisation and excursion courses
The civilisation course examines French culture and contemporary life (painting, sculpture and the history of Paris) as a prelude to an excursion in Paris. Off-site excursions are led by a professor who takes students into the different districts of Paris known as quarters or “arrondissements” or to visit different museums: Saint-Germain-des-Prés, L’iIle de la Cité, the Latin Quarter, Montmartre, the Opéra Garnier, the Marais, the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, etc.
At the School of French Gastronomy the Atelier des Chefs, a chef creates a special dish right in front of you using a selection of natural ingredients. The chef provides detailed comments on every step in the process and on each of the specific techniques he uses. The dish is then prepared and sampled by participants during the class. The finishing touch to this enjoyable lunch is a glass of wine and coffee offered to all participants.
Classes are given by an expert who introduces students to the art of winemaking (enology) in a way that is both interesting and fun. Students learn to distinguish between different wines and to use specific terminology. They gradually learn the proper way to look at, smell and taste different types of wine.
