The DELF and the DALF are the official diplomas issued by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, Foreign and European Affairs and Culture and Communication. They verify and certify the French language skills of foreign candidates. The DELF and the DALF comprise 6 independent diplomas which correspond to each of the six levels of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) is also issued by the French Ministry of National Education. Fast and simple, it enables foreign students to assess and be accredited for their general level of competence in the French language. Widely required by French universities, a good TCF grade allows students to proceed to the advanced DELF tests.
